August Winding was born in Tårs, near Sandby on the island of Lolland, in 1835.

He left us two symphonies, three concertos, some chamber music and a great deal for piano.

Here is his piano concerto in A minor, opus 16, which appeared around 1870:

Now if only somebody would record a live performance of the violin concerto, which is available on YouTube in a synthetic version.
