Britain has produced many masters of song - a difficult task to encapsulate a text with a couple of minutes and make the setting memorable. My favourites are Henry Purcell, Arthur Sullivan, Hubert Parry, Roger Quilter, Ivor Gurney, Gerald Finzi and Benjamin Britten. Perhaps this is too selective...
