One of my absolute favourite late twentieth century operas is John Adams' Nixon in China (1987), which I was lucky enough to see in a splendid and thrilling production by English National Opera way back in 2000...

A firm admirer of Adams' music. Any other fans?

I forgot that one! ::) I don't know the opera;but I like the orchestral work The Chairman Dances! And I seem to remember enjoying an Lp of his music, borrowed from the library! Back in the 1980's,I believe?!
