One tries one's little best. That's what state benefits should be spent on - lovely CDs, not boring old things like gas, electric, rent, bread, beans and syllabubs...


Any reasonable person would agree with that. Grin The trouble is that in the review you referred us to, there was a link to this:

which will involve me in yet further expense. Kathleen Ferrier is, without exception, my favourite singer. Leaving aside the impeccable technique, it's the sheer humanity of her voice and how she used it that goes straight to the heart. Her choice of repertoire is also right up my street. Not to be morbid but I'd like the sound of her singing to be the last thing I hear as I shuffle off...
