The practice we are adopting to messages which are the first posts by new members and are suspected spam is to indicate initial concerns thereby giving the member an opportunity to clarify and address these concerns.
If there is no response within twenty four hours and the message contained a link-potentially dangerous to other members-the post and the thread itself are deleted.
If the initial post is obviously spam then it will be deleted as soon as either the administrators spot it themselves or someone else draws it to our attention.

What we do not want to do is to delete "first posts" without due consideration but our responsibility is to try to protect all our existing members. We do not want anyone clicking on a link which causes damage to their systems. Sadly we now live in a world where the internet is being used increasingly to do wilful damage.
