Well certainly I enjoyed it! Thank you for the posting. With pieces like this my approach is always to ask what Brahms would have thought of it, were he alive to-day. And he I think would not have been indifferent. He - as might I - might have suggested just two alterations: I. to make the work longer, at least twenty minutes. II. to add another three instruments, turning the piece into a kind of quintette, and giving the texture more variety.

Thank you very much. Composers tend to write for the forces that are available to them so that they can get their music played by the musicians they admire.
