Courtesy of Latvian we now have another work by Ralph Walter Wood (1902-1987) in the archive:

Five Dramatic Studies (1945)
BBC Northern SO/ Stanford Robinson

The movements are: 1.Preamble; 2.Crisis; 3.Assignation; 4.Promenade; 5.Peroration

A couple of Wood's works were first performed at the Cheltenham Music Festival - String Quartet No.3 (1957) and a Piano Concerto (1960). His Symphony No.3 (1966) is in the archive in a broadcast conducted by Bryden Thomson.

Incidentally, there was one other work on the program, Roger Quilter's Serenade, which is already in the archive, so I didn't duplicate it here.

And RIP Lou Ottens,incidentally! (1926-1921).

Hear Hear! It was only the creativity of of Mr Ottens that would allow Tracy Barlow to go upstairs one day in 1983 'to play cassettes' and remain there unseen for the following 14 years.
