Amazing that a country the size of Finland has so many top tier conductors (all Jorma Panula students I believe!)

Very true! Leif Segerstam, Okko Kamu, Esa-Pekka Salonen, Osmo Vanska, Sakari Oramo, Jukka-Pekka Saraste are only some of the better-known names; there are several more of serious ability.

Would like to know the salaries of each position also.  Might you provide an appendix in that regard?

I've sometimes wondered what happened to Jeffrey Tate (Hamburg, I see) and had no idea Dutoit was with the RPO.

Many rather unfamiliar names, - but also the "forever club" (though considerably thinned, with no real icons anymore, - or who might qualify for that stature now?).

BTW, where's Vladimir Ashkenazy (and Rozhdestvensky)?  Were they in the list?

Since giving up the Sydney Symphony Orchestra in 2013 Ashkenazy has not had the Musical Directorship of an orchestra; nor has Rozhdestvensky since he gave up the Royal Stockholm Philharmonic back in 1995.

Salaries ??? ??? Now that would be interesting.......but I imagine such information may not be generally in the public domain.
