Yes,glorious stuff,indeed!

What a wallow! And the big surprise when first listened to this cd (and the Herbstsymphonie is a rather big surprise!) was how well it all seems to hang together. Underneath all the extravagance there is a real feeling of symphonic growth. There's none of that feeling of,yes it's all very lovely to listen to,but is it really going anywhere?! I can't help thinking it is a late romantic masterpiece. And what a fabulous performance and recording! The Piano concerto is another glorious wallow! Indeed,the mind boggles at the neglect of such a talent! And I musn't forget the Korngold! Another romantic masterpiece! (More korn than gold indeed!!

)
Yes,who knows what treasure is out there?!! Imagine Holbrooke's Apollo and the Seaman in such glorious sound and in such a fine performance! It's just waiting to be recorded!!
