I was just listening to the Symphony no. 1, op. 46 (1969) of east German composer Wolfgang Strauss on YouTube:
Lasting 20 minutes, it hardly outstays its welcome. It is an accessible work cast in four sections, each of which lead attacca into the next. The piece ends with a unison A-flat from the orchestra. Overall, I enjoyed the piece and would like to hear more of this composer. Not much information is available about him, though. All I have been able to find is that he composed five symphonies (no. 5, op. 80 is from 1986), a Kleine Sinfonie in C, op. 36 (1962), and two violin concertos (no. 1 is op. 19). Does anyone have any music of his they could upload?
