Herman Mulder was born in Amsterdam in 1894. He gave us fourteen symphonies:

1940: Symphony No. 1
1952: Symphony No. 2
1954: Symphony No. 3
1960: Symphony No. 4 "Sinfonia", op. 114
1961: Symphony No. 5
1962: Symphony No. 6
1964: Symphony No. 7, op. 133
1967: Symphony No. 8, op. 144
1968: Symphony No. 9, op. 150
1971: Symphony No. 10
1973: Symphony No. 11, op. 165
1975: Symphony No. 12, op. 169
1976: Symphony No. 13 "Sinfonia concertante" for Violin, Viola, Cello and Orchestra, op. 172
1981: Symphony No. 14 "De laatste roep" for chorus and orchestra, op. 185

and thirteen string quartets,

as well as a Piano Quintet from 1947.
