Arif Melikov was born in Baku (Azerbaijan SSR, now Azerbaijan) in 1933. He gave us six symphonies:

Sym. no.1, 1958
Sym. no.2, 1970
Sym. no.3, 1973
Sym. no.4, 1977
Sym. no.5, 1982
Sym. no.6, 1985
