Rudolf Karel was born in Plzeň (Pilsen) in 1880. He gave us:

Renaissance Symphony opus 15 (1911)
Symphony for violin and orchestra opus 20 (1914)
Demon Symphony opus 23 (1920)
Spring Symphony opus 38 (1938)

as well as three string quartets:

Str Qt no.1, d, op.3, 1903
Str Qt no.2, E, op.12, 1910
Str Qt no.3, op.37, 1936
