Václav Kálik was born in Opava (Austro-Hungary, now in the Czech Republic) in 1891. He gave us two symphonies:

Sym. 1 Mírová symfonie [A Sym. of Peace], Soprano and orchestra (1927). There are four movements:

1. Allegro con fuoco, impetuoso
2. Andante mosso, grave
3. Fuga
4. Finale. Allegro (impetuoso ma non troppo)

Sym. 2 (1943)
