Jiří Jaroch was born in Smilkov (a village in Czechoslovakia, now in the Czech Republic) in 1920. He gave us four symphonies:

No. 1 (1956)
No. 2 (1960)
No. 3, Concertante, for Violin and Orchestra (1969)
No. 4 (1975)

as well as two string quartets (1950 and 1970).

Here is his second symphony, from 1960. There are three movments:

1. Allegro non troppo ma energico
2. Adagio
3. Allegro giusto
