I wonder if anyone knows much about the unfinished (and I think mostly unwritten) ending to Elgar's 'Apostles' trilogy. How much survives in the way of sketches or more? What kind of characters were in it (like Judas in the Apostles)? Has anyone attempted to realise any of the music for performance? We have heard the Third Symphony, The Spanish Lady, the Piano Concerto and the Sixth Pomp and Circumstance all recorded in performing versions with varying degrees of convincingness: is there any chance of the same with this work? I am amazed how little I have ever seen written about it, but maybe there is very little to say.
