Also known as the Freie Stadt Danzig, it is a major port on the Baltic Sea, created a free city by the Treaty of Versailles in 1919, and brought within the Polish Customs Frontier in 1922. It struck its own coinage until being proclaimed part of the German Reich in 1939. It is now under Polish administration.

Monetary System: 100 Pfennige = 1 Gulden (1923 to 1939)
