Joseph Smith Fletcher was born in Halifax in 1863, and attended Silcoates School in Wakefield. He gave us more than a hundred detective novels.
"Murder in Four Degrees" appeared in 1931, and has five main parts:
Part One: Murder of Mr. Hannington
Part Two: Murder of the Unknown Woman
Part Three: Go North, Go South!
Part Four: Mrs. Goodge and the Hindu Servant
Part Five: The Swimming-Pool
