Andres Sas Orchassal was a Peruvian composer of French-Belgian descent. Here's the article on him from the Chambers Dictionary of Music: He studied in Brussels and went ot Peru in 1924 as a violin teacher at the National Academy of Music at Lima. He married the Peruvian pianist Lily Rosay and with her founded a private music school in 1929. He made extensive research into Peruvian folklore and frequently used folk tunes in his works.
Here's some of Sas Orchassal's compositions:
-Orchestral: "Himmo al sol", "Himno y danza", "Poema Indio", "Rapsodia peruana" for violin and orchestra (1928), "La parihuana" for violin and orchestra, op. 46 (1952, 3 minutes), "Rapsodia incaica" for violin and orchestra, "Recuerdos" for violin and orchestra, op. 7, and Violin Concerto
-Chamber: "Sonatina india" for flute and piano and works for violin and piano
-Piano pieces
-Vocal: "Quenas" for voice, flute, and harp; songs

So, does anyone know more about this composer, or, better yet, have any recordings of his music to upload? That would be greatly appreciated :).
