Excerpt:
Holst's last opera, The Wandering Scholar, was written in 1930. The music, with its clear characterization, is Holst at his best in a scherzando frame of mind. The work remained in manuscript for more than thirty years after his expiry. Imogen Holst edited it for publication with the help of Benjamin Britten.

Excerpt:
Though brief passages from Elgar's Third could be performed orchestrally, much was still uncomposed, and he had not ordered even the extant sketches in their final relationship.
