Ernst Křenek was born in Vienna in 1900. He gave us five grand numbered symphonies:

Symphony no. 1, opus 7 (1921)
Symphony no. 2, opus 12 (1922)
Symphony no. 3, opus 16 (1922)
Symphony no. 4, opus 113 (1947)
Symphony no. 5, opus 119 (1949)

a multitude of concertos, seven piano sonatas and

eight wonderful string quartets, all of which must be listed here for completeness' sake:

String quartet no. 1, opus 6 (1921)

There are eight movements:
I. Lento
II. Allegro ma non troppo
III. Adagio molto
IV. Presto
V. Andante quasi adagio
VI. Allegro vivace
VII. Fuga - Vivace
VIII. Lento come prima
played by the Sonare quartet:

String quartet no. 2, opus 8 (1921)

There are three movements:
I. Andante sostenuto
II. Allegro molto [11:48]
III. Adagio
played by the Sonare quartet:

String quartet no. 3, opus 20 (1923)

There are five movements:
I. Allegro molto vivace
II. Adagio - Quasi tempo I - Adagio
III. Allegro moderato ma deciso
IV. Adagio

There are seven movements:
I. Allegro moderato
II. Adagio
III. Allegretto grazioso

There are three movements:
I. Allegro, molto deciso ed energico
II. Thema und Variationen
III. Phantasie (Adagio)

II. Allegro, pił tosto comodo, con grazia
III. Vivace
IV. Adagio
V. Fuga a quattro soggetti: Allegro deciso

There are five movements:
I. Allegro ma non troppo, grazioso e dolce
II. Adagio
III. Allegro ma non troppo, ben misurato, con passione
IV. Andante sostenuto (Interlude)
V. Allegretto con grazia, scherzando e teneramente
