Claude Debussy was born at St. Germain-en-Laye in 1862. His Pelléas et Mélisande, an "opera" in five acts, was  completed in 1902. It is given here as altogether eight separate files.

The work is sung in French. To see subtitles do a right click once a dialogue has begun - there is a choice between German or English. English subtitles are on "track 2".

The work was performed by the orchestra of the Opera de Lyon condicted by John Gardiner and was directed for tele-vision by Jean-Francois Jung. The singers' names are listed at the beginning of the first scene.
