Michael Finnissy was born in London in 1946. He is one of the "silly names" generation, which means that he gave us no "symphonies" and no "string quartets". He has however produced at least seven piano concertos - but very modernistic to be true.

His second "piano concerto", dates from around 1980. This performance - the first in Britain - comes from the September 2012 Proms. I cannot catch the name of the pianist:

The BBC Proms website would suggest that the pianist is Nicolas Hodges (see https://www.bbc.co.uk/events/exvj5v)
