Tikhon Khrennikov was born in Yelets in 1913.

Among much else, he left us three grand symphonies:
No. 1 in B-flat minor, opus 4 (1935)
No. 2 in C minor, opus 9 (1942)
No. 3 in A major, opus 22 (1973)

a multitude of operas

and a great many concertos for piano (4), violin (2) and cello (2).

I Prelude / Intermezzo
II Sad Dance
III Fugue
