Many thanks for this - MacCunn is seriously in need of revival, not least his opera Jeanie Deans (1894) - https://operastory.co.uk/jeanie-deans-by-hamish-maccunn/The Hyperion disc of overtures and excerpts under Martyn Brabbins is OK, although the recording acoustic is too dry. None of his choral works have been recorded so this particular "Wreck" is very welcome indeed! ;D |
