It might be worth pointing out that with the recent addition here of Iain Hamilton's Violin Concerto No.2 "Amphion" the number of Violin Concertos by major British composers not currently available has diminished yet further :)

Although not commercially recorded, our British Music Archive contains the Violin Concertos by

Arthur Butterworth
Arnold Cooke
Peter Racine Fricker No.2 "Rapsodia Concertante"
Iain Hamilton No.2 "Amphion"
Alun Hoddinott No.2 "Mistral"
Daniel Jones
Kenneth Leighton
John McCabe No.2
Robert Simpson
William Wordsworth

The "still missing" are the Stanley Bate No.2(1943), the Goossens Phantasy Concerto(1948), the Hoddinott No.1(1960), the Holbrooke "Grasshopper"(1909-28), the McCabe No.1 "Sinfonia Concertante"(1959) and the Robert Still(1969).

This should remind us all of just how impressive and important the British Music Archive on here actually is :) It represents the most significant collection of British music-most of which is not commercially available-anywhere in existence. It is a standing legacy and a testimony to the enormous generosity of collectors from all over the world. Superbly catalogued by Albion(John) it is a treasure-house beyond compare :) :)

What of the Eugene Goossens' Phantasy Concerto for Violin and Orchestra Op 63 of 1948?  This was premiered at the Proms on 7th September 1960

[see link: http://www.bbc.co.uk/proms/archive/search/1960s/1960/september-07/7195]

A recording of, I think the premiere was available, probably in a bootleg.

I've got a cassette of an off air performance of the Violin Concerto by James Dillon, I'm not sure if that has ever been commercially recorded and the Concerto by Jonathan Lloyd.

Those two concertos would be very welcome, suffolkcoastal, as long as they're not too "advanced" in idiom :).

I missed the broadcast of the Haydn Wood (before Dutton Recorded it). I assume they were not one and the same performance - might the broadcast have been recorded by someone?
