The CD of works for Viola and Orchestra most appeals to me.
A good recording of the Vaughan William's Suite of 1933/34 was recently released by Hyperion with Flos Campi and the premiere recording of the McEwen Viola Concerto.
The Bax Phantasy is a wonderful piece, with a gorgeous middle movement based on an Irish folksong. The only other available recording, coupled with the Tertis version for Viola of Elgar's Cello Concerto [Conifer] has long been out of print though it can still be purchased second hand. Another recording is most welcome.
The Theodore Holland and Richard Harvey works look intriguing.
