The 1998 Marco Polo release of Lord Berners' complete The Triumph of Neptune (1926) has been re-issued on the cheaper Naxos label

hopefully this will encourage more listeners to acquaint themselves with the composer's music: a great performance under the baton of the ever-reliable David Lloyd-Jones. A true eccentric, Berners dyed the local pigeons various colours and had a clavichord in the back of his Rolls-Royce...
