I remember the Free Trade Hall in Manchester in the 1980s, then home to the Hallé Orchestra. Dismal acoustic - thankfully closed in 1996.



Nottingham's Royal Concert Hall ain't much better.

I'm no expert but from what I read it seems that all the acoustically satisfactory newer concert halls are somewhere other than the UK. What's the received opinion on City Hall, Birrmingham?  Does anybody know if that's the exception?
