Thank you for the reminder. I am very much looking forward to this release. My understanding is that, because the nature of M. Boissier's music did not fit with the prevailing anti-romantic climate in France (thanks for nothing, Pierre Boulez), he was having difficulty in getting professional recordings of his music made. Now, however, it seems that common sense has been brought to bear and we can all get to hear this delicious stuff. The blurb on the Toccata website has me salivating; I'm a high-calorie kind of guy, and I'm looking forward to the sumptuosity* of this feast!  ;D

*If that's not a word, it ought to be!

Looking forward to this recording, too, it has always seemed to me that since I am in love with the Romantic era orchestral music because of its bigness and beauty then I am going to like any similar music written since then including now, I have yet to listen to a Boulez piece all the way through, so many best wishes to M. Boissier a brave young man who believes in himself!

About time too! I could enlarge their lexicographical remit, make no mistake...

Thanks for these links BTW! Great to see that there is still room for different voices to be heard even today.

Another video clip from the making of the much Covid delayed CD ;D
1st March 2019 - late into the night recording session of Corentin Boissier's 'Philip Marlowe Piano Concerto' with Ukrainian Festival Orchestra - conducted by maestro and Grammy winning conductor John McLaughlin Williams in Lviv, Ukraine.
To add to the intrigue - this is the dramatic finale of the 3rd movement - before the gunshots are edited in !!
The result of several days of hard work !! 🙂

CD and other formats available on the Toccata Classics label.

Seeing live music-making is such a novelty in these troubled days. Please keep posting clips of recording sessions - nothing is more welcome here at AMF than new or rediscovered repertoire espoused by enthusiasts.
