Not sure I'll be rushing out for it, but definitely glad it'll be available...

Neither will I but, as you say, it's good that it's available for those who will. Thanks for the heads-up, Clambert.

There's a short Wikipedia entry on the piece here: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Nelson_(opera)

Much as I like Berkeley’s orchestral and instrumental output, I shall not rush to buy this.
I just wish that Lyrita would issue more of what has always been its strength - orchestral music.
The same goes for Dutton - I used to buy every issue, but it seems to have gone off the boil as far as orchestral works are concerned.

Although I haven’t listened to it for years, it should be available on the B&IM archive, I am considering buying this.

While I must admit,I won't be buying this;it's good to see that Lyrita are continuing with these releases of BBC archive recordings, though! A further 3 cd set of one act operas (by Lennox Berkeley) is,apparently,in the offing! Incidentally,I don't dislike Lennox Berkeley's music,I just don't know it & unfortunately my personal finances mean I can't buy music by every interesting sounding composer! (If I did have the spare dosh I would probably begin with some of his orchestral works!)
