Gunnar Bucht, an important Swedish Composer, but little known outside that country, wrote his 17th symphony last year.
I posted three of his other compositions, all radio recordings, in the Swedish Donload Section.
Hopr you like them too.

I really liked these works. Thanks for posting. All of them were interesting contemporary works that are routed in tradition. I wish I understood the texts behind them more because it seems to be specifically influenced by the German composers (Beethoven/Mahler, etc). Either way, a very fine composer and I very much enjoyed the two hours of music I listened to of his tonight. Thank you.

Hi everybody!
Some months ago I came across Karl-Birger Blomdahl's Symphonic Dances on a radio broadcast on YouTube methinks, and now it dissapeared. I can't find it anymore. Does anybody have this video or music by chance? Many thanks in advance.

Thanks for letting me know I can successfully post here! I'm delighted I can share what I have. Your assessment that Blomdahl's later works are more somber, but they are still very engaging pieces! His 3 symphonies should not be missed and his 3rd symphony is "otherworldly". To be honest, I can't remember hearing Symphonic Dances, but this will certainly trigger a new hearing! Blomdahl is a great composer and I have garnered everything I can from him!
BTW: I'm wondering how many other composers wrote symphonic dances and if that might be a good thread here. Rachmaninoff and Tamberg come to mind. I was surprised how many showed in my collection.
