Some of you might have already seen this looming over the horizon, but a previously unrecorded Schuman work has just appeared on the scene. Can't wait to get my hands on it, myself!

How extraordinary! As far as I know "The Witch of Endor" is a Ballet score written for Martha Graham in 1965 but withdrawn by the composer. It does not even get a mention by Walter Simmons in "Voices of Stone and Steel": his study of the music of Schuman, Persichetti and Mennin.

That it should now be recorded is indeed a welcome surprise!

I listened to this last night and fell asleep. I listened again this afternoon, and I rather understand why it was withdrawn by the composer.
