This is, in my opinion, an exceptional release and my current top choice for this underrated symphony, which amazingly I've seen performed live. The spectacular recording allows so much more orchestral detail than usual to be heard and the intensity of the performance approaches that of Nathan Rakhlin. Altogether a great experience and, along with Lyatoshynsky's 3rd Symphony (Bournemouth SO, Karabits) probably one of my discs of the year, even though we are still in January. I'm not sure how they managed to fit 83 minutes on a single CD.

It's on the 'dreyer gaido' CD label.
