Thank you, Dimana. Yes, I suspect it would have been performed if it were performable as is, seeing how many fragments of Elgar have been presented as "premiere recordings" recently (the "Smoking Cantata" comes to mind in particular). Still, it was obviously at one time complete enough to have been played as part of the Suite in D.

Wise words, Dundonnell - and thank you for writing so cogently to Lewis Foreman. As you say, I shall not stop buying Dutton CDs if they continue to record interesting and unusual repertoire and shall continue to be grateful to them for doing so. But, my goodness, they need a lesson in public relations!
I didn't buy the Ina Boyle cd,but I certainly won't be buying any more cd's directly from their websites,or any of those bargain basement offers from them, anymore. Not because I think it will affect their business;I just think their customer service sounds rude, and I'm a sensitive old soul!! :o ;D

I've been listening to the Boyle CD when it arrived finally and it's very enjoyable music. Seeing as how you get a Symphony, a Violin Concerto, a piece for cello and orchestra and a couple of other things on an eighty minute CD it is amazing that none of the pieces sound too short to too lightweight. After I finished listening I thought that several hours had gone by!
Hope there is more Boyle to record.

So if there hadn’t been a bonus track for a select few, people would have been perfectly happy? Strange decision by Dutton for sure, but still.....
