While doing a bit of online research on an unrelated topic I stumbled upon the information that the London Phil under Jurowski performed this work on Sept 27, 2017.  While there's been a performance of this work (conducted, I believe, by Maderna) kicking around on the internet for some time, a fresh take would be most welcome to we Silvestrovophiles.  I don't suppose anybody knows if this performance was broadcast and if so, whether or not anybody managed to snag a recording?  I know it's a bit of a long shot but hope springs eternal...

Hi Brian,

Here is a link to Silvestrov's Symphony 3 by the Kiev Philharmonic in 1976:

http://www.theblues-thatjazz.com/klasyczna/2625-silvestrov-valentin/12128-valentin-silvestrov-spectra-eschatophony-meditation.html?lang=pl

Some of the download links work, some don't, but it appears to be an mp3 file as it's only 120mb

1-3. Spectra (1965)
Symphony for chamber orchestra

Igor Blazhkov, conductor
Recorded live in the Great Hall of the Leningrad Philharmonic, 1965 (world premiere)

4-6. Eschatophony (1966)
Symphony No. 3 for large symphony orchestra

Bruno Maderna, conductor
Recorded live at the Darmstadt international Summer Courses for New Music, 1968 (world premiere)

7. Meditation (1972)
Symphony for cello and orchestra

Valentin Potapov, cello
Igor Blazhkov, conductor
Recorded live at the Kiev Philharmonic, 1976

That link from Mr.(?) Geronimo leads to a site with an awful lot more than Silvestrov - well worth checking out !        Thank you for the 'steer'.
