Innovative online magazine THE FIRST POST may not be the first with the news, but there is always some provocative commentary (most notably from Alexander Cockburn), and especially some short presentations (usually 8-10 images only) of contemporary photography.  Like it or hate it, it's undeniably innovative and thought-provoking.  A couple of recent examples:

"The Dandies of Brazzaville, Congo"

"The And/Or Book Awards"

"The Economic Miracle of Post-War Berlin"

I bought the Berlin book (as well as an accomp-anying one on the Wirtschafswunder (1955-1972) in West-Germany in General a couple of weeks ago. A real must if you want to understand Germany and especially the sixties and seventies (including the Baader-Meinhof / RAF in the 1970s) from a pictorial point of view.
