In 1872 this composer was born at the Old Vicarage of the Cotswold village of Down Ampney. He composed nine symphonies altogether; also a number of works for curious instruments and combinations.

Here is a Romance in D flat major for harmonica, pianoforte and string orchestra, written in 1951. If I remember rightly the harmonica player - a North American resident in England - was best known for his contributions to the interlude music for the Goon Show.

Not the first time Vaughan Williams is mistaken for 'Williams'; it also happened in his youth, but it has been a long time that I myself saw this happening.  Wink
