Thank you very much RKHenderson for the tip toward Kladnitsky, I hadn't run across this composer before, I noticed in one Google site he was called the "Russian Korngold". Looking forward to listening more carefully to these orchestral works. Best wishes, Jim By the way his dates are 1932-2015.

"Fatherland I praise" - from a poem by Vladimir Vladimirovich Mayakovsky, used as a symbol of social optimism about the first Soviet five-year plans. The piece reminds me a bit of Rodion Shchedrin in one of his lighter moods.
