June 15th 2017, the french composer Jacques Charpentier died.
Mr. Charpentier was a well known person in the french musical scene. He was born in 1933 in Abbeville *France).
From his symphonies, nrs 3 and 6 were recorded and were brought on french record labels in the lp times. His '72 Études karnatiques pour piano' (1957--1984) was his magnum opus.

I remember many years ago meeting with someone who was at that time well-kennt in the Scottish music scene; I had just bought an LP of some of Charpentier's music and I happened to mention it.
Him: Which Charpentier? Me: Jaques. Him: You mean Gustave. Me: No, Jaques. Him: You must be mistaken. There is only Mark-Antoine and Gustave. Me: No, this is Jaques Charpentier.
I must see if I still have that LP.
