From the Ralph Vaughan Williams Society site:

In April we shall be recording the incidental music for three plays by Euripides – The Bacchae, Iphigenia in Tauris and Electra which Vaughan Williams wrote in 1911. This is choral music – for mezzo soprano (Heather Lowe), female chorus (The Joyful Company of Singers) and orchestra (Britten Sinfonia, conducted by Alan Tongue).

This is about an hour of music, and is the last unknown and unrecorded work by RVW on this scale; we believe this to be a really important recording.

[Extract from: https://rvwsociety.com/news/ ]

As the recording was scheduled for April, I am presuming it has actually taken place and funds were raised for this.

A delectable prospect!   ;) ;D :D

Truly excellent news. There are so many important scores for Greek play productions at both Oxford and Cambridge by Parry, Stanford, Charles Wood, Vaughan Williams, etc. that deserve resurrection...

Oh yes, and I think that all I have heard is Parry's Birds, VWs Wasps suite and the prelude to Stanford's Oedipus Rex.

A well packaged CD with informative notes and texts.  The music is attractive with hints of the Vaughan Williams to be.  A good purchase.
