Don't forget Derek Bourgeois with, at the last count, 114 symphonies to his name. Four composed last year, only one this year so far.

I never know how to comment on Derek Bourgeois ::) In any realistic or manageable list of British symphonies can or should one include his vast output?

I don't see why not. They are perfectly good symphonic works, slightly reminiscent of Malcolm Arnold. It would be very odd to exclude him just for being prolific.
