The recent deaths of these two fine conductors should not go unmentioned on this forum. Belohlavek made a huge contribution to Czech music both within his native country after the demise of the Communist regime and abroad (including his spell with the BBC Symphony Orchestra). Jus as Karel Ancerl was a source of inspiration for him so too was Belohlavek for the younger generation of Czech musicians.
Jeffrey Tate's career in which he triumphantly overcame such very serious physical handicaps is also truly inspiring. It is unfortunate (to put it mildly) that the obsession of orchestral managements in Britain with employing young foreign conductors led Tate to work almost exclusively abroad over the last twenty years or so. Two more conductors who will be missed :(

I have one (and only one) Tate conducted CD in my collection, - one of the very first CD's I ever acquired and one which remains an all-time favorite recording, namely his EMI label disc of shorter pieces by Butterworth, Bridge, Moeran, & Bax. Gramophone outrageously (in my judgment) panned his interpretations when the CD was first issued, but as far as I'm concerned they have still never been done better. OTOH I'm familiar with no other Tate recordings that really grabbed me or that I've felt compelled to keep around.
