Somewhere (I thought on this forum, but after failing to turn it up with a quick search I'm thinking in fact it must be the Unsung Composers downloads archive) there is a downloadable version of this work, but this appears to be a different, very, very recent (March 3, 2017) performance, once more under the indefatigable Andrey Boreyko.  I know not everyone will agree, but being of the "you can never get enough Silvestrov" school myself, I thought it might be worthwhile bringing this performance to the attention of a wider public.

Yes, 'Tim Poulus' is a great uploader of modern music, many, like this, taken from very recent performances (occasionally even the previous day !).

Colin,

I'm pretty sure there's a downloadable version of Silvestrov's 8th on the go somewhere.  In fact I'm pretty sure I have it in my collection somewhere (being of the "you can never etc" school myself  ;D).  Let me know if you'd like me to arrange an upload.

Brian

Thank you, Brian I am still on holiday (South Australia at present). I think that another member has sent me a recording of the 8th but I shall confirm when I finally get home next week.
