In case members missed it, there was a fascinating feature on Radio 3 last Saturday about this now-forgotten orchestra whose members were Victorian aristocratic amateurs -

According to the announcer at the end of the programme, the Endymion overture (1862) by Seymour Egerton (1839-1898), long-time conductor of the orchestra and later 4th Earl of Wilton, will be broadcast at the end of Afternoon on 3 this coming Friday (BBC CO/ Martin Yates) - I will record a copy for the archive.

Did I blink and miss it, or was this in fact not broadcast last Friday afternoon? It's certainly not on iplayer ...

or any of the Radio 3 schedules ...
