Which new full orchestra recordings issued today possibly "make money", - by which I will mean have sales that more than cover their variable costs?

Any?

Will even a Mahler Symphony conducted by some big name come close to that?

Will any individual issue of Adriano's Brun series sell even a thousand copies?

good question... I happen to own several of the Brun series...and noticed that one of the symphonies, the string section was either missing notes or perhaps a violin or two were NOT tuned.. IDK.. I noticed it with headphones...  probably will not sell more 500 copies worldwide.   Good question. Perhaps that is why we see increasingly RCA or Warner reissues or Brilliant reissues all the time...no new recordings..  I just picked up the complete Shostakovich symphonies on Brillant Classics for 20 bucks brand new (Barchai) !!!
