While every music-lover curious about Latin American music may be familiar with his name, probably fewer have had a chance to actually hear any of his eight symphonies, although a MIDI rendition of the spiky and pastiche-like Bourrée of his Third can be found on YouTube.

Luis Humberto Salgado Torres (1903-1977)
Symphony No. 7 in E minor, dedicated to Beethoven (1969-70)
Adagio sostenuto; allegro con anima - Adagio sostenuto - Allegro ma non troppo - Allegro maestoso
Orquesta Sinfónica de Guayaquil / David Harutyunyan

Broadcast by Radio Filarmonía (Peru) earlier today. Quite a substantial and interesting piece.
