Date unknown

http://www.mediafire.com/?5dp3qv63r16fb2s

From the collection of Karl Miller

Koppel wrote one opera, Macbeth, choral works on biblical texts, songs, and a quantity of chamber music. His orchestral works include seven symphonies and a number of concertos for various instruments, including four piano concertos.

The UC Bentzon posts below have not been migrated to our site, and they are clearly NOT in the domain of UC Romantics. They may not be secure there but all these links are still functional, although I have not listened to all of them.

Some clips are MP3 but some are ACC format. Hopefully, someone with the expertise here can convert all to Mp3 and repost as A&M linkages. They are all from radio broadcasts.

The 5th Symphony is taken from a Danish Radio broadcast. The 8th Symphony is a studio recording and was released and re-released on several labels over the years -- Fona, Vox Turnabout, Danish HMV, and possibly others. This upload is taken from a pristine copy of the HMV release.

Neither performance has ever been released on CD, to the best of my knowledge.

This upload is in response to a request on this forum. The 5th Symphony is in MP3 format, while the 8th Symphony is in lossless FLAC due to the quality of the recording, and as requested.

Many thanks for this! The 8th is in a very good performance and it's a fine alternative to the one I have (on the BIS CD). Thanks again.

These were fantastic!  Thanks for uploading.  I'm surprised how "British" this music sounds to me.  I hear elements of RVW and Malcolm Arnold on these works, but they are wonderful and excellent interpretations.   :)
