The wonderful James Stuart regularly adds to his channel on You Tube. It is worth checking every few weeks or so to find out what new treasures he has for those of us who are admirers of particular neglected composers.

Over the years a number of members have expressed an interest in the music of the Danish symphonist Svend-Erik Tarp (1908-94). Although Tarp wrote ten symphonies Da Capio have recorded only one of these-No.7 "Galaxy". This has often struck me as odd given that Da Capo have recorded all of the symphonies of Danish composers like Peder Gram, Leif Kayser and Knugage Riisager.

There have been off-air recordings of Tarp's Symphonies Nos. 1, 2, 3, 5 and 6 available for some time.

James Stuart has now added recordings of-

Sympghony No.4 (1975): Danish Radio Symphony Orchestra/Ole Schmidt
Symphony No.8 (1989): Danish Radio Symphony Orchestra/Leif Segerstam
Symphony No.10 "Tegn og Underlige Geninger" (1992): Odense Symphony Orchestra/unknown conductor

Only Symphony No.9 (1991) still remains unavailable.

There are many other new additions made recently by James Stuart-mainly Scandinavian but a few British works too. I shall add the British pieces to my comprehensive list already posted on this forum. I shall also try to compile a catalogue of the Scandinavian (in the broadest sense of Norwegian, Swedish, Finnish and Danish) symphonies available on Mr. Stuart's channel.

wonderful indeed..
Anyone missing this site is missing a great deal of fine music.
If you are focused on classical music, to save time, the playlists are grouped by classical vs movie music.
