From the ''study of colour and light', this work literally represents an artist's palette.  Solid blocks of colour are placed side by side to create texture and timbre. Conducted by Roger Redgate and performed by the Ensemble Expose.

Does anyone have a comment to make about the music?

I think it's ki-ller. The pulse seems fast and somewhat reminds me of Kontra-Punkte (one of my favorite pieces), though the rhythm is of course different. Actually the rhythm seems to be more about the coincidence of instrumental passage, than the within the phrases themselves . I love the lilt and sway. Also, tone color is rich, yet the space is never too full - of voices, or of fast notes. The only thing I can't comment on is the percussion - I tend to prefer percussion outside of the concert hall.

Fabulous performance.
